Changdeokgung (Palace Changdeok) is a Joseon Dynasty palace complex in Seoul, South Korea. Changdeok palace is one of the Five Great Palace which was built as the residence of the royal family. Changdeok palace is located to the east of Gyeongbokgung so often referred to Donggung or East Palace. Meaning of Changdeokgung (昌 德 宫) is the Palace of Prosperity
Changdeokgung means "Palace of Bright Virtue." Until now, the complex has admired for its architectural elements inherit the Three Kingdoms Period in harmony with nature. This approach is not encountered in the construction of the Palace Gyeongbok
Changdeokgung once inhabited much of the Joseon Dynasty kings, and inherit the elements of the Three Kingdoms that were not included in the construction of Gyeongbokgung architecture. One such element is the union of the Palace Changdeok with the natural topography that look very harmonious.
This palace complex consists of a public area, residence of the royal family and the rear garden. In the rear garden there is a huge tree over 300 years old, a small pond and a pavilion. Timing the most beautiful to see this park is during the autumn, when the leaves begin to fall.
Despite centuries of standing, the new palace is established as one of the world cultural heritage by the end of 1997, at the committee meeting in Naples, Italy. Elements of the architecture was amazing.
